Adapting and contributing to the local community

We are delighted to confirm that Charters is now back open and, whilst still following government guidelines and implementing social distancing measures, we are operational and here for you.

Since the UK outbreak of COVID-19 and the subsequent government-led regulations around self-isolation and lockdown, here at Charters Estate Agents we have been proudly supporting the efforts of our NHS and key workers.

During this time , our teams have been working from home whilst continuing to provide a high level of exceptional customer service. We have received some wonderful feedback from our customers who have either been at the start, in the middle or at the end of their house sale, purchase or rental. We have been proud to support some of our NHS and key workers who had to move during this difficult period.

Some of the initiatives we have put into practice are detailed below as we have helped to paint our towns and cities in the colours of the rainbow!

Thank you...

Stepping up

Here are some of the initiatives we have put into practice;

  • We donated our coffee machine pods to the Intensive Care Unit in Winchester hospital. They  were not in a position to get coffee from the restaurants and cafes on-site during this time and it was great news to find out they had the same machine that we use in our branches!
  • Charters Chairman, Robert Mott, is a volunteer at Winchester Food Bank. He and his wife continue to support the team after witnessing just how crucial this service is to the community  all year round.
  • Our teams have also been picking up and delivering essential food items and medication for our customers, past and present, who are either self-isolating or vulnerable.
  • Where possible, our landlords who have properties near hospitals have offered their rentals out to NHS and key workers for free. Another great show of support in the community.
  • We have put up 700 ‘Thank you’ rainbow boards across our network of seven offices, so where there is a Charters property board, there is now a thank you sign too – what a way to say thank you, so prominently!
  • Alongside this, we have changed our window displays in our high street branches – with the same ‘Thank you’ message to NHS and key workers. We have already seen many people taking photographs and ‘selfies’ of each other in front of these window displays.
  • For those homeowners selling through Charters, or landlords with properties to rent but don’t have a board in place, Charters incentivised them by offering to donate £20 per board erected. This initiative raised a sum of £2,000 which will be donated to the Intensive Care Unit staff at Winchester hospital.
  • Charters Financial Services has suspended their mortgage fees for NHS staff and key workers. Anyone who is currently in the process of arranging a mortgage through us and is employed accordingly have been contacted and refunded the Charters Financial Services fee. We are delighted to be able to help.
Thank you...

Always supportive...

As we continue to adhere to the government guidelines around safe working environments, protecting our customers and staff through social distancing, we are pleased to back in our high street branches and in our communities. We have learned about team and community spirit and our ability to adapt quickly and effectively in testing times.

We will continue to support our customers and the hardworking NHS and key workers who we very proud of.

Thank you.
