Charters and Developer support local community and the Mayor!

As part of HAB Housing’s new Lovedon Fields development in Kings Worthy the area will benefit from a variety of new park and meadowland areas. This will double the size of the existing Eversley Park and provide a range of new leisure amenities for all to enjoy on the edge of the village.

Managing Director of HAB, Mike Roberts said, “This will give a really special environment for people and wildlife to enjoy in the village. As a developer these are key principles for HAB”.

The open space will include allotments, a village orchard and a one mile running/cycle trail.  Local City Councillor Malcolm Prince, a lifelong athlete and a founder of Worthy Runners (www.worthyrunners.com), commented, “The new park and meadowland will give real opportunities for the whole community to enjoy a healthier lifestyle whilst retaining the best of the countryside.  The developers, HAB, have proved tremendously supportive and are excited by the inclusion of the new park area , suggesting ways to achieve full benefit for the whole community from the area.”

Mayor of Winchester Councillor Jane Rutter, also a local ward councillor for the Worthys, recently visited the site with Malcolm and Mike Roberts.

She said, “The new park will provide walking routes to the school and between key places in Kings Worthy. This is an outstanding development and congratulations are due to the developer HAB. Over the past few years they have been enthusiastic supporters of life in the village. In 2015 they gave financial support to the Worthys Festival Run and this year, together with Charters estate agents, have kindly agreed to help sponsor the Mayor’s Team cycling 90 miles over two days in support of the Mayor’s Charities.

Taking place on 19th & 20th September it will visit most places in the Winchester District, including Kings Worthy (Tubbs Hall) at around 4pm on Tuesday 20th September.  This new park in The Worthys represents real ‘icing on the cake’!”.  The running trail and park pathways are set to open in autumn 2017 with the wider park expected to open in Autumn 2018 once the meadow has established.
